Sigiriya- Rock Fortress is one of the most visited sites in Sri Lanka located in between Habarana and Dambulla towns in the district of Matale and the ‘Lions Rock’ previously known as Snihagiri has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is commonly referred to as Sigiriya.

This was used as a monastery by King Kashyapa, King Datusena’s eldest born son was talented in politics, war strategy and the arts as a prince. King Kashyapa sought safety from the public fury and disgust and fled into a large, roughly lion-shaped rock finally discovered this rock as the kingdom 0f Sigiriya. The rock was elaborately designed with pools and lush green gardens and had dense forests protecting attacks from outside. The grand gardens of Sigiriya are said to be one of the world’s oldest landscaped gardens. The water system that remains a marvel and a mystery still function well during the rainy seasons and fills up the pools on all ground levels. The mirror wall when polished could once hold one’s reflection on it. The design, architecture and the many beautiful features of this fortress is an example of the luxury and the artistic taste that lay in the dynasty of ancient Sri Lanka.

Day -3 Tour Overview.

Kand – Why you must visit Kandy in Sri Lanka! Kandy in Sri Lanka is known as the capital of the hill country and it is the largest after Colombo. Nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka and surrounded by heavily forested mountains and tea plantations. Kandy is an important religious city for Buddhists. It is the home for the Secret Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha and was declared as a UNESCO world heritage site.

According to the legend , there was once adverse drought and then the Tooth Relic was taken out of its shrine and great procession was held for seven days and ended the drought and started the traditional Pera Hara (Procession)  festival which is celebrated annually in Kandy and if you visit the temple early morning or evening, you will witness the ceremony and enjoy the cultural show which take place every evening.

Other than these cultural explorations you can spend some time at the Kandy Lake , numerous birds , fish and animals and this lake is peaceful at any time of the day. Also, you have a lot of shopping options for all your tastes around this beautiful lake.

The Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya is the largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka and attracts two million visitors annually. Sixty hectares of this garden has become the house for variety of plants and trees and also can be found the orchid house , cannon ball trees and this park is so huge and has so many sections.

Day 4 & 5 Tour Overview.

Nuwara -Eliya is a small city located in the center of tea plantations at 1884 meters above sea level. It is called as “Little England” due to its climatic condition as well as its buildings in British colonial style surrounded by gardens with English lawns. The best time to visit Nuwara-Elia is during the months of February to April when its weather is pleasant and the region is full of bloom and also the temperature range remains between 10C to 20C making the ideal time for outdoor activities.

What should we wear when you visit this beautiful city? Wear a comfortable shoes like trainers wear and make sure to bring warmer jacket as night will be very cold and pack a rain coat and hat during the day visit as the sun gets very hot early in the morning and you will feel very thirsty when the sun rises.

It is very important how many days you have available in your itinerary to decide whether you stay in Nuwara-Eliya or Ella if you are a nature lover and looking for some pretty hikes it would be better to stay Ella or if you feel less touristy and prefer to have cool climate or to play Golf you better to stopover in Nuwara-Eliya.

In Nuwara-Eliya there are over 100 waterfalls hence it is called as the paradise of water falls, however we can visit only few gorgeous ones of them in this itinerary and Ramboda Water falls, Rawana Ella falls and Bakers falls are some of them and Nuwara-Eliya is one of the best tourist destinations in Sri Lanka and you can visit Gregory Lake where you can go on a boat ride in this small lake, Ambewela farm where you can explore the different ways of experience, Seetha Amman Temple located near Ella on the main road and Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple-the location of the temple gives us a stunning views of the surrounding and Huggale Botanical garden is another beautiful place to visit in this itinerary where a traveler can witness more than 10,000 plant species in this garden and thousands of visitors come to this garden to see blooms in spring every year.

At this stage , It is required to make a payment of 25% of the total tour package .Booking confirmation will reach to you 48 hours after making the payment. The balance 75% of the payment is required to pay 30 days prior the tour commencing date. You may proceed with Visa processing after the booking confirmation.
